Dr. Omkar Dave, MD

A Greater Houston native, Dr. Omkar Dave graduated from Clearbrook High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry, with a minor in music, from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he also did his residency. He completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine and arthroscopy at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Jackson.

Dr. Dave, who has been in practice since 2009, is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He specializes in orthopedic sports medicine, hip and knee orthopedics, shoulder and elbow surgery, and osteoarthritis of the hand, wrist and knee. His primary clinical interests are advanced arthroscopic reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, knee and hip; shoulder and knee replacement; and fracture care. He speaks Hindi and Gujarati.

His patients describe Dr. Dave as caring and knowledgeable. They give him high ratings for his trustworthiness, as well as his ability to explain conditions and answer questions thoroughly.

Away from his practice, Dr. Dave enjoys composing, producing and arranging Indian music. He sings and dances and plays traditional Indian percussion instruments such as the tabla. He also is passionate about basketball, tennis, weight training and Tae Kwon Do.
