Dr. Randal Camarillo started his journey toward a profession in sports medicine while he was a student trainer at The University of Texas at Austin. He earned his medical degree and finished his residency at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He completed a fellowship at the University of Kentucky, where he worked with athletes at the University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University and Kentucky State University.
In practice since 2008, Dr. Camarillo is board certified in orthopedic surgery. His primary clinical interests are orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He treats both acute and chronic injuries, with emphasis on injuries of the knee and shoulder. He also serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School.
Dr. Camarillo’s patients express a high degree of confidence in him, describing him as very professional, friendly, caring and thorough. He takes care to explain everything in detail, both before and after surgery. They also commend the fact that he sees patients on time but doesn’t make them feel rushed during their visits.
