Dr. Mehul Patel earned his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Dallas and his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he also did a pediatric residency. He completed fellowships in pediatric cardiology and advanced non-invasive imaging at the University of Michigan’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor.
In practice since 2008, Dr. Patel is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His clinical interests include general pediatric cardiology, pediatric echocardiography, pediatric cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, pediatric cardiac computed tomography, long-term clinical outcomes of children with complex heart disease, comprehensive care of infants with high-risk cardiac disease, and interstage care of infants with functionally single ventricle heart disease. He has expertise in echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance (MRI) and cardiac computed tomography (CT).
Dr. Patel works with pediatric patients to treat complex heart disease, high-risk cardiac disease and other related conditions. He focuses on providing comprehensive heart care for children with the goal of seeing his patients thrive and overcome a serious or sudden diagnosis.
