Dr. Malcolm Mazow earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Houston and his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB). He completed a general internship and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Iowa.
Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Mazow’s primary clinical interests are eye muscle disorders and strabismus (abnormal alignment of the eyes). He also treats other pediatric eye disorders such as amblyopia, astigmatism, glaucoma, genetic eye disease, pediatric cataracts and developmental abnormalities.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mazow has combined private practice and academics, serving on the faculties of UTMB, Baylor College of Medicine and McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He has been recognized by the American Academy of Ophthalmology for his contributions to the development of educational programs and by the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He has lectured and published numerous papers and book chapters, primarily on the topics of strabismus and amblyopia.
Dr. Mazow is married and the father of five children and four stepchildren. He enjoys spending his leisure time golfing, creating interesting photographic images, reading, listening to classical music and traveling. He and his wife share an enthusiasm for the visual and performing arts, regularly attending symphony, opera, ballet and theater performances.
