Mary T. Austin, M.D., M.P.H.
Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Surgical Critical Care
Dr. Mary Austin is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, and completed her internship and residency at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She also completed fellowships in pediatric surgery and surgical critical care at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
Board certified in three areas: general surgery, critical care and pediatric surgery, Dr. Austin’s clinical interests include pediatric surgical oncology, congenital anomalies including anorectal malformations, minimally invasive surgery, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and surgical critical care. She has been in practice in Houston since 2010, treating patients up to 18 years old.
Dr. Austin’s practice philosophy is to treat each child and family as she would want her own to be treated. She takes the time needed to explaine health problems and plans to patients and families.
A resident of Houston, Dr. Austin is married and the mother of two young children. Outside the office, she enjoys triathlon, cycling, travel and family activities.
