Dr. Olusimidele “Simi” Ayeni grew up in Prince George’s County, Md., and finished her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland. After earning a medical degree and a PhD in microbiology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, she completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she worked at Ben Taub Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Ayeni, who has been in practice since 2013, is board certified in pediatrics and has experience in pediatric urgent care. She treats children from birth through age 18 and provides allergy testing, immunizations, sports physicals and school physicals.
Her practice philosophy is based on her understanding that a positive encounter with one child can change a family, even the greater community. She believes in creating a physician-parent team to encourage children’s healthy development. To ensure parents’ peace of mind, her practice provides separate waiting areas for well and sick children. Staff members speak Spanish.
A resident of Katy, Dr. Ayeni is married and the mother of two children. Her favorite leisure activities are spending time with family and friends, supporting church activities, watching movies and dancing.
