Dr. Shannon Stroope, MD

Born in England, Dr. Shannon Stroope moved to Houston when she was a young child. She attended Louisiana State University on a swimming scholarship and went on to earn her medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Board certified in pediatric medicine, Dr. Stroope belongs to the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Texas Medical Association. She believes in educating parents on the importance of preventing childhood obesity and promoting childhood safety.

Dr. Stroope is married and has twin daughters. She believes in leading an active lifestyle. An avid runner and swimmer, she competes in triathlons and marathons. She and her husband enjoy traveling, sailing, kayaking, hiking and camping.
