Dr. Silen Pahlavan, MD

Dr. Silen Pahlavan earned her undergraduate degree in biology and French from Texas A&M University and her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. She completed her internship at Louisiana State University in Shreveport and her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine-affiliated Texas Children’s Hospital and Ben Taub Hospital.

Dr. Pahlavan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Clinical and Administrative Advisory Committee for the Texas Children’s Health Plan. Her primary clinical interests are child growth, development and nutrition. She speaks Farsi and Spanish.

She believes that pediatrics is a partnership among the patient, family and physician. She wants families to trust her and know that she will treat every child as her own. The most satisfying part of her job is watching babies grow into beautiful young people.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Pahlavan enjoys art, traveling (Hawaii is a favorite destination!), spending time with her husband and two elementary-age sons, and decorating cupcakes with fondant figurines.
