Dr. Eugenio Rivera, DPM

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Eugenio Rivera, DPM, FACFAS, graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) in San Juan. He moved to the United States and received his Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) from Arizona State University in Tempe. One year after graduating, he realized that medicine, rather than administration, was his true passion. In Miami, Dr. Rivera went on to earn his medical degree from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at South Miami Hospital.

Board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ABFAS), Dr. Rivera specializes in foot and ankle medicine and surgery for patients of all ages. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and a Diplomate of ABFAS.

For five years, Dr. Rivera practiced in South Florida, providing foot and ankle medicine and surgery, including limb salvage, wound care and diabetic patient management. During his time, he was involved with the residency teaching programs at two hospitals in Southern Florida.

Before moving to Houston, Dr. Rivera worked as an attending physician (and previously as a resident) with the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine’s Yucatan Crippled Children's Project (YCCP) in Merida, Mexico. In addition, he practiced as a podiatric surgeon and worked to further enhance his podiatric skills in the Greater Seattle area.

Dr. Rivera spends time with each of his patients, giving them the opportunity to fully discuss any questions or concerns they might have. He is committed to providing high-quality, conservative podiatric care to his patients. This commitment of excellence is supported through Dr. Rivera’s compassion, along with the use of proven, state-of-the-art podiatry technology.

In his downtime, he enjoys to cook, travel, play golf and volleyball. Dr. Rivera speaks Spanish.
