Alan Skolnick, M.D., received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and obtained his medical degree from Chicago Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Barksdale, Louisiana, and completed his residency at the Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Skolnick treats patients 18 years old to geriatric who have urological conditions such as prostate cancer, stone disease and urinary tract infection.
Devoted and informative, Dr. Skolnick considers himself a health coach to his patients. “During a consultation, I gain an understanding of what the patient’s issue entails. I walk the patient through each step as to how they should approach the treatment plan. I explain every aspect of the condition and different symptoms that can arise so they do not have any surprises,” said Dr. Skolnick.
Although Dr. Skolnick enjoys many aspects of his job, seeing patients with relief on their faces when they have conquered a big step with the treatment plan is a reward every day.
