Board certified by the American Board of Urology, Mark D. Kalish, M.D., received his bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
Dr. Kalish sees newborns to adults and treats patients with conditions such as infertility and reproductive issues, kidney stones, prostate cancer and urinary tract infections. He also performs vasectomy reversals. Dr. Kalish partners with other experienced urologists at his practice, which expands the scope for treating his own patients. “If I come across a condition that is new to me, I collaborate with the other providers and we figure out a solution together,” said Dr. Kalish.
Passionate and energetic, Dr. Kalish sees himself as a health adviser to his patients. “Being asked a lot of questions can make a person nervous. When a patient comes for a consultation, I listen to what the patient is saying, and eventually they will tell you what is wrong with them. The key is to listen,” said Dr. Kalish.
Although Dr. Kalish enjoys many aspects of his job, listening to his patients and being at the clinic brings a smile to his day.
In his spare time, Dr. Krishnan enjoys fly-fishing all over the world.
