Evaluations & Screenings
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE objectively measure an individual's functional abilities so that na examiner can give recommendations based on the client's observed limitations, physical job demands and safety.
THE FCE contains the following three elements:
- A comprehensive physical examination and neurological evaluation of the individual's strength, flexibility, posture and neurological condition.
- Functional abilities tests including activities of daily living, hand function tests, cardiovascular endurance, static positional tolerance and physical manual tasks specific to the examinee’s job.
- Submaximal effort level, which is monitored, assessed and documented throughout the evaluation.
The evaluation normally takes three to four hours, and we will mail/fax a summary report to the referring physician, case manager, insurance carrier and/or employer within two to three business days.
Pre-placement Strength and Agility Screening
With the high costs associated with hiring and training new employees, employers want to ensure they are hiring the right people and reducing the risk of musculoskeletal injuries.
Our pre-placement strength and agility screenings measure strength, endurance and postural agility to determine if a candidate has the physical capabilities to perform the functional demands of the job. The exact composition of the screening is customized to the specific physical requirements based on a job description and/or job analysis and validated to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These validated assessments can be used as a legitimate hiring practice to ensure the employee is capable of completing the demands of the job.
