Why should I give to Memorial Hermann?
The Memorial Hermann Foundation serves as the fundraising arm of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. Philanthropic support is a crucial source of funding that helps ensure Memorial Hermann's ongoing commitment and ability to provide critical programs and services to meet the community's growing healthcare needs.

Through the Foundation, individuals, corporations and other foundations can show their support for Memorial Hermann's commitment to quality healthcare in the communities it serves.

Your gift can go toward a specific hospital program, expansion project, clinical service or other specified area, and individual donations also can be made in honor or remembrance of a beloved family member or friend. Your gift can also recognize a physician, nurse or caregiver.

Tax-deductible donations can be made in the form of cash, securities, property or gift planning such as bequests, life insurance policies and charitable remainder trusts.

I can only make a small gift at this time. Will it still make an impact?
Every gift makes a difference. The cumulative effect of several small gifts can be very significant, helping fund projects around the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. In this way, the power of your gift is magnified many times over.

How do I make a memorial gift?
You can designate your gift in memory or in honor of a special person by selecting the appropriate box when you access the Online Donation Form or the Contribution Form for donations to be made by mail. 

Will I receive a thank-you note for my gift?
Yes. After making an online donation, you will receive an immediate confirmation and thank-you message. The Development Office will acknowledge donations sent by mail as soon as possible.

Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes. The Memorial Hermann Foundation is a component of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, and gifts are deductible on federal tax returns subject to the limits allowed by the Internal Revenue Service (see IRS Code 170). A copy of the letter documenting tax-exempt status is available from the Development Office. If you make a gift associated with a product, event or service, the Development Office will provide you with the necessary documentation for tax purposes.

How can I take advantage of my company's Matching Gift Program?
You can double or further multiply the impact of a gift if you are an employee, retiree or director of a corporation that matches gifts to qualified institutions. You may also contact the Development Office matching gift specialist at (713) 242-4400 to ask about your company's plan.

Can I contribute a gift-in-kind or a gift of my time and talents?
Volunteer Services receives a wide variety of gifts-in-kind and can always use your help. Please refer to our Volunteer page for more information. 

How can I get more information about making a gift?
The Memorial Hermann Foundation Development Office is staffed by professionals who are experienced in assisting you with all types of charitable gifts. We will help you and your financial/legal advisers design a giving plan that is in your best interests and also fulfills your desire to help eradicate cancer.
