Running For Memorial Hermann Life Flight
Memorial Hermann Foundation is excited to be among 60 local not-for-profit organizations to be selected as an official charity for the 2015 Houston Marathon Run for a Reason charity program. The charity program links runners with participating nonprofits and provides a platform for charities to raise awareness and funds as well as educate others about their cause. Since the program’s inception in 1995, more than $19 million has been raised to benefit various charities.
The Memorial Hermann Foundation has selected Life Flight as the beneficiary of the Run for a Reason charity program. Memorial Hermann Life Flight® is the only hospital-based air ambulance serving Houston and surrounding communities. This critical air ambulance service retrieves critically ill and injured patients in the greater Houston area. Most locations are accessible in less than 15 minutes, within a 150-mile radius of Houston, including Harris County, southeast Texas and part of western Louisiana. The service operates around the clock - weather permitting - 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Since its inaugural flight, Memorial Hermann Life Flight has flown more than 140,000 missions.
The Run for a Reason charity program offers alternative ways to enter the marathon and half marathon through "Heroes" and "Fundraise for Registration" charity registration options. These entries will open on June 4, 2014. If you purchase a guaranteed charity entry, do not enter the lottery. For details about the charity registrations or to learn more, contact Cathleen Fishel at (713) 242-4450 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon are set for January 18, 2015. The Ironman Sports Medicine Institute at Memorial Hermann will serve as title sponsor of the two-day EXPO Jan. 17 and 18.
