March Is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
Get Screened: Your Health Depends On It
Colorectal cancer – cancer of the colon or rectum – is second only to lung cancer in numbers of cancer deaths for men and women combined. It is the third most common cancer diagnosed in men and women.
If you are 50 or older, you should be concerned about colorectal cancer. Most colorectal cancers occur in men and women 50 or older.
In most people, colorectal cancers develop slowly over several years, beginning as non-cancerous polyps – or small growths – on the lining of the colon and rectum. Although these polyps can become cancerous, removing them prevents colorectal cancer from ever developing.
Join an expert panel of physicians from Memorial Hermann Cancer Centers for one of our free colorectal seminars. Learn life-saving information about the disease, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
Free colorectal take-home screening kits will be distributed to each seminar participant. Seminars are FREE, but registration is required. Call 713-222-CARE (2273) or toll-free 1-877-644-CARE (2273).
