High-Quality Lab Tests in Houston
Memorial Hermann Laboratory Services is committed to providing excellence in laboratory medicine consistent with best practices for quality, patient safety, service, and efficiency.
Based in Houston, Memorial Hermann Laboratory Services consists of the Consolidated Core Laboratory, an academic medical center laboratory, as well as seven rapid response laboratories and five limited services laboratories.
The laboratories also support a rapidly growing outpatient business, operated by Memorial Hermann Diagnostics Laboratories.
Laboratory Services provides standardization and integration of services across all hospitals and outpatient services, including information systems, to provide an integrated continuum of care, equipment, policies and procedures, critical values, and reference ranges.
Quality and Patient Safety
We are committed to the highest quality and patient safety standards to better improve patient clinical outcomes.
The Laboratory Services Quality Program is modeled after the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute Quality Management System guidelines, as well as Memorial Hermann’s strategies.
Quality is managed using a system-wide Quality Management Team of Medical Directors and Laboratory Directors.
We provide comprehensive lab tests through extensive, on-site menus and strategic alliances with other laboratories and vendors of laboratory technology.
The comprehensive clinical and anatomic lab test menus include the areas of anatomic pathology, cytology, chemistry, special chemistry, hematology, coagulation, special coagulation, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, microbiology, transfusion services, flow cytometry, and molecular diagnostics.
Our turnaround times on lab tests are some of the best available in Houston, including a two-hour Stat turnaround time for outpatients, due to a dedicated staff, automation, advanced instrumentation and information systems.
Memorial Hermann Laboratory Services maintains mandatory and voluntary certifications and accreditations through:
