We’re ahead of the curve in radiation safety.

Since 2008, we have been increasing awareness among physicians and technologists on the need to decrease radiation doses – especially during CT scans - to patients. We have standardized our protocols, paying special attention to pediatric patients.

Each Memorial Hermann Imaging Center is accredited by the American College of Radiology, which shows patients and physicians that our facilities have undergone a rigorous review process and meet nationally accepted standards of care.

  • The radiologists interpreting the CT images work closely with physicists, technologists and other physicians to ensure that all exams are done with the least possible exposure to radiation without compromising the diagnostic quality of the image.
  • Our educated and credentialed technologists use the ALARA (As Low As Reasonable Achievable) method when providing doctors with quality images while keeping radiation doses low.
  • Our physicists are experienced in maintaining high quality images while reducing radiation dose to patients.
