Sleep Disorders Center

Our Sleep Disorders Center uses a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of children who complain of problems with sleeping, staying awake and/or troublesome behavior during sleep.

We perform all procedures using the highest medical standards and the latest technologies for the treatment of sleep-related disturbances. The center's six bedrooms are designed to provide a comfortable sleep environment to ensure your child’s comfort and testing integrity.

Children may be referred either for testing or for complete evaluation and treatment. All patients must have a history and physical done by one of the center's staff physicians before their sleep evaluations are scheduled. We provide referring physicians with a follow-up plan and recommendations for treatment based on the final sleep testing report.

Hours

Sleep disorders testing is offered Sunday through Friday evenings. Studies are scheduled directly through the center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Staff

Trained polysomnographic technologists conduct studies at night or during the day, depending on the patient’s sleep schedule. Our staff is certified in CPR but does not provide nursing care. Patients who require nursing care must be accompanied by a healthcare provider. Patients with known infectious diseases that require isolation may not be studied at the Sleep Disorders Center.

Special Accommodations

Special accommodations will be made for patients requiring large beds, hospital beds and other requests. Hemodynamically unstable patients should not be scheduled in the Sleep Disorders Center. Special arrangements must be made to schedule a bedside polysomnogram.

For more information, please call 713-704-1235.

To schedule a sleep study, please call 713-704-2337.
