Patient-Centered Care
Exceptional patient care is a high priority in neurosciences planning, treatment and overall administration. Key principles include respect for patients’ values, preferences and expressed needs; the coordination and integration of care; information, communication and education; physical comfort; emotional support; and the involvement of family and friends.
Therapists are involved from the beginning, and aid in assessment, patient education, and planning therapy regimens. They, in conjunction with staff and physicians, work to streamline each visit, whether for treatment or surgery. In addition, the Patient Care Advisory Council helps guide the hospital in improving clinical outcomes.
Nursing Staff
Headed by nurses with advanced certification in neuroscience, the nursing staff strives to provide an exceptional patient-care experience. Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center is known for its extensive nursing internships and neuroscience training programs.
