Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center: Mischer Neuroscience Institute - Pallidotomy Program

Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center

Mischer Neuroscience Institute

Pallidotomy Program

The Memorial Hermann Pallidotomy Program uses an innovative mapping technique to locate and destroy overactive cells in the brain that cause symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

The procedure is currently used for patients who are no longer getting satisfactory results with – or cannot tolerate – medication. It is safe and long-lasting, and enables patients to enjoy activities and perform tasks that had previously been difficult or impossible.

For more information or physician referral, call 713-222-CARE (2273).
