Emergency Services
In our newly expanded Emergency Center, we can handle virtually any medical emergency around the clock. The Emergency Center is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses whose training includes trauma care as well as advanced cardiac and pediatric life support.
In this fast-paced environment, minutes can make a difference, so we’ve equipped our Emergency Center with its own CT scanner and radiology room for immediate access and prompt diagnosis.

Medical and Surgical Patient Care Services
Patients recovering from surgery or receiving ongoing treatment are in good hands with our medical staff physicians and nurses, who set high quality and service standards for themselves as they collaborate to speed recovery.
As added assurance, our units are wired with telemetry so patients’ conditions can be monitored from a central station. Our facilities include:

Rehabilitation Services
Whether you’re recovering from a heart attack or stroke, an injury or a surgical procedure, our rehabilitation services can help you restore maximum function and get back to the activities you enjoy.
Our experienced staff provides inpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy in a supportive environment. We’ll also participate in your discharge planning and send you home with instructions for continuing your rehabilitation.

Surgery Center
Whether it’s inpatient or outpatient surgery for an emergency or elective procedure, patients are assured of skilled, attentive care and the ready availability of specialized equipment in our Surgery Center.
We offer a full spectrum of surgical procedures, including some not widely available. For example, Memorial City was the first hospital in Texas to offer leading edge off-pump cardiac bypass surgery, which promotes rapid post-operative recovery.
Most of our surgical nurses have completed a post-graduate program in operating room techniques. All are cross-trained in the various surgical specialties to ensure that each of our patients receives the finest medical care.
Preparation is streamlined for outpatient surgery. There’s no need to come days in advance for paperwork and tests. Most of our patients can arrive the day of their procedure.

Technical Education Center
The only hospital-based facility of its kind in Houston, the 18,000-square-foot Memorial Hermann Technical Education Center addresses the shortage of qualified health care providers. By offering realistic, hands-on training for radiology and surgical technologists,
phlebotomy technicians
and advanced mammographers, the Center helps ensure access to excellent medical care.

Urology Center
Patients of all ages come to our Urology Center for the diagnosis and treatment of incontinence and other bladder, kidney or prostate disorders. We offer a full spectrum of procedures, ranging from InterStim therapy, a cutting-edge treatment for bladder control problems, to biofeedback, a therapeutic alternative to surgery. Pessary treatment also offers a non-surgical option for some patients.

Women’s Services
We’re dedicated to promoting the health and wellbeing of women throughout their whole lives – from adolescence through the childbearing years and menopause and into their later years. We offer a full spectrum of state-of-the-art surgical and medical procedures for women of all ages on our designated gynecology floor.
Our fully equipped labor, delivery and recovery suites provide a soothing, supportive setting for childbirth. For moms with high-risk pregnancies, it’s reassuring to know we have a perinatologist on staff, ready to respond in case of an emergency. Rooming-in is encouraged to help new moms bond with their babies.
We also have two lactation consultants on staff and have been designated by the Texas Department of Health and the Texas Hospital Association as a participant in the Texas 10-Step program, which encourages breastfeeding as the preferred method of feeding newborns and infants.
As another benefit to new parents and parents-to-be, we offer prepared childbirth, baby care, breast-feeding and other classes as well as classes for siblings and hospital tours. A breastfeeding consultant is available for lactation support.
