McKenzie Therapy
The Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine is one of the few physical therapy programs in the greater Houston area employing a physical therapist certified in mechanical diagnosis and therapy by the McKenzie Institute USA.
Since 1956, this method of spinal rehabilitation, developed by New Zealand physical therapist Robin McKenzie, has been utilized by millions of people worldwide to reduce and eliminate back, neck and extremity pain of spinal origin.
The McKenzie method is based on a philosophy of active patient treatment focusing on intervention and prevention. McKenzie is recommended by healthcare professionals across the country who are committed to ensuring that patients are pain-free as quickly and cost effectively as possible.
The goals of the McKenzie method are:
- Elimination of pain
- Return of function
- Prevention of recurrence
McKenzie therapy teaches patients how to prevent and self-treat future episodes of pain. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 281-929-4475. For physician referral, call 713-222-CARE (2273). |
