Wound Care
Do you have a wound that will not heal?
Sometimes a wound just won’t heal, no matter how well it is cared for.
There are many factors that may impair wound healing including infection, nutrition, aging and overall medical status. A wound may not be healing properly if a patient suffers from one of these conditions:
- Arterial insufficiency
- Diabetes
- Postoperative wounds
- Pressure ulcers
- Trauma
- Venous insufficiency
A multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses, with specialized training in the care of non-healing wounds, can evaluate and treat all types of wounds.
The center utilizes the latest wound care therapies centered around personalized treatment plans to provide patients with the best possible results.
Treatment at the Wound Care Center entails:
- Wound measurements
- Debridement
- Monitoring for infection
- Offloading
- X-rays, Doppler, MRI, etc. as needed
- Arrange for home health as needed or for specialty dressings to be provided
- Specialty dressings
Daily dressing changes are not a service offered at the center.
Patients are usually seen on a weekly basis. The wound treatment
physician will take over management of the wound while the referring
physician continues to manage the patient’s other medical conditions.
