The Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation program in The Woodlands brings together the best of health and healing with specialized treatments like outpatient physical therapy, massage therapy, and a unique program called the Athletic Republic sports performance enhancement program. Encompassing 2000 square feet within The Woodlands YMCA facility, the Program encourages patients to move from its personalized physical therapy and rehabilitation options to overall fitness programs at the YMCA.

Outpatient Physical Therapy
Physical therapy provides treatment and relief for individuals with injuries, disabilities, or suffering from some type of movement or functional disorder. The Sports Medicine Program provides outpatient physical therapy with a strong orthopedic emphasis. Because each rehabilitation program is tailored to the individual, it can be used to treat a host of problems and conditions, including:
- Post-sports injuries or surgeries
- Orthopedic problems – shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, & foot injuries
- Back, neck and shoulder pain
- Knee ligament reconstruction
- Soft tissue injuries
Massage Therapy
This program currently offers a number of special
massage options under the guidance of a licensed massage therapist.
Appointments are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday between the
hours of 9 a.m. – 4
p.m. Appointments before or after these times as well as Saturday appointments
are taken by request. Currently we offer:
- Swedish massage
- Pregnancy massage
- Sports massage
- Deep tissue

Athletic Republic Sports Performance Enhancement Training
This unique program is designed to enhance athletic performance through a series of supervised training protocols. These protocols can be used by athletes of all ages including junior and senior high school students. Athletes who have participated in at least one six-week session have recorded an average improvement in:
- Speed: two-tenths of a second off their time in the 40-yard dash
- Vertical leap: two to four inches increase
- Throwing velocity: four miles per hour increase
According to the Athletic Republic organization, more than 100,000 athletes in over 140 facilities worldwide have completed at least one level of the Program. In addition, more than 2,000 professional athletes from organizations like the National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and National Hockey League have participated in the Programs.
