Long-Term Care
and Medicare Skilled Nursing
University Place's
Nursing Center (UPNC) cares for residents who require 24-hour supervision
and care temporarily or on a permanent basis.
The nursing center
offers an in-patient therapy program for patients recovering from
hospitalization. Closely affiliated with the in-patient therapy program
at Memorial Hermann Southwest, University
Place Nursing Center provides a personalized approach to therapy
in a home-like setting. The Skilled Nursing program consistently
achieves positive outcomes with its rehabilitation patients.
An interdisciplinary
team directs the skilled and long-term care programs. Staff members
include a medical director, advisory physician, 24-hour nursing care,
social worker, chaplain, dietitian, activity director, and physical,
occupational and speech therapists.
A high staff-to-resident
ratio allows University Place Nursing Center to give special attention
to the needs of residents, who enjoy daily activities and nutritious
foods selected from daily menus.
