Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital
In the Pediatric Postgraduate Dentistry Clinic, we see patients ranging from newborns to 18 years of age. Designed to meet the comprehensive dental care needs of children, our program can accommodate medically compromised and special-needs patients.
We perform diagnostic, restorative, minor orthodontic, surgical and preventive dental health procedures. Nitrous oxide is available, and the office is set up for conscious sedation and intravenous sedation, which is given by a dental anesthesiologist.
The clinic is staffed by pediatric dentists who participate in the Pediatric Postgraduate Training Program at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. The five attending pediatric dentists who rotate through the clinic each week are faculty members at UT Dental Branch.
A dual-trained pediatric dentist/oral pathologist and a dual-trained pediatric dentist/orthodontist schedule patients during one half day each week. A dental anesthesiologist visits our postgraduate clinic one day a month to provide IV sedation for our patients. Four dental assistants, three clerical staff and one clinic manager are available 40 hours a week to assist faculty and residents.
