Memorial Hermann extends its neuroscience expertise and capabilities outside the Texas Medical Center through the Mischer Neuroscience Associates, with outpatient clinics located across the Greater Houston area. MNA is affiliated with the renowned Mischer Neuroscience Institute. The Institute’s infrastructure includes more than 70 nationally recognized faculty members.

Neurologists affiliated with MNA Greater Heights have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of neurological issues, including Stroke and Cerebrovascular disorders, Neuromuscular disorders, Demyelinating disease, Headache, Epilepsy and Seizure disorders, Movement disorders, Neurodegenerative diseases and Dementia and Neurophysiology evaluation.

Leading-Edge Care Close to Home

Thanks to MNA and the presence of affiliated neurosurgeons and neurologists, Memorial Hermann provides consistent 24/7 neuroscience coverage to the highly populated Houston community and outlying suburbs. Patients can now access neurological care, including complex spine and intracranial medicine, in their own communities.

Physicians in the community are focused on providing exceptional care and convenience for their patients. This collaboration in partnership with UT Neurology, provides patients with the highest quality of subspecialty services and access to top-quality care close to home.

As part of the Telemedicine Program at Mischer Neuroscience Institute, we use robot technology that allows physicians to collaborate with each other and view patients from remote locations. Through this innovative device, a patient at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital can be seen by experts at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth.

The Remote Presence System robot is fully portable and equipped with two-way audio/video, allowing physicians to see and hear patients and view monitors and other clinical data firsthand. Medical devices such as a digital stethoscope or pulse oximeter can be plugged into the robot, enabling firsthand remote diagnostics. This reduces the burden on nursing staff to describe or explain subtle changes in a patient's condition. Physicians at our hospital can then consult directly with specialists at Mischer Neuroscience Institute to discuss treatment.
