Heartburn Treatment Program
Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center’s Heartburn Treatment Program is dedicated to help people who suffer from chronic gastrointestinal reflux disease or GERD. GERD is a lifelong disease that usually progresses in severity over the years, and its treatment must be delivered with this in mind. Many people don’t find relief through standard treatments. We offer comprehensive evaluations and treatments for GERD, combined with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology such as BRAVO pH and Manometry.
GERD Team and Nurse Coordinator at Memorial City
The Heartburn Treatment Program offers access to a multidisciplinary team of affiliated physicians including gastroenterologists, pathologists and general surgeons. They work collaboratively to review each case and make a recommendation on the best treatment option for each individual patient. The nurse coordinator will help guide you through the process, beginning with an assessment utilizing the Quality of Life Scale. The coordinator provides education and support and keeps you well-informed along the way.
Treatment
Available treatments for GERD include lifestyle changes, medications and minimally invasive surgery. Our Heartburn Treatment Program team will work with you in developing a customized treatment plan that’s right for you. If you and your physician are considering surgery, minimally invasive anti-reflux surgery is available at Memorial Hermann Memorial City.
