Lindig Family Cancer Resource Center
Thanks to the generosity and support of Houstonians Bill and Bobetta Lindig and the employees of Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center, the Lindig Family Cancer Resource Center is available to patients, their loved ones and the community to provide information, emotional support and resources to help in the fight against cancer.
Located on the first floor of Medical Plaza 4 at 925 Gessner, the Center provides a patient-centered resource for education, as well as emotional, spiritual, nutritional and genetic support services for all types of cancer patients, survivors and families, regardless of where treatment is received.
The Center is open 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. All services are free.
A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming for both the patient and loved ones. One of the best ways to regain a feeling of control is by arming yourself with accurate, reliable information. The Center offers a quiet place to learn more about cancer, from prevention to treatment and recovery.
The Center features:
- Lindig Resource Library, including medical encyclopedias, medical dictionaries, current health-related periodicals, and computers with internet access and an index of reliable medical websites
- Two breakout rooms for support groups, counseling, oncology rehabilitation activities and other survivorship programs
- 50-seat teaching conference center for physicians and other medical personnel, tumor boards, multidisciplinary patient care conferences, support groups, educational seminars and nurse navigation services
- Dedicated Community Outreach Specialist and an Oncology Nurse Navigator to assist patients and visitors
Support Groups and Programs
Patients and their families, especially the newly diagnosed, greatly benefit from participation in one or more of the Center’s many support groups and activities. Many patients take comfort in spending time with others with similar diagnoses.
The following are a few of the many classes and events offered at the Center. To register for classes and activities, unless otherwise noted, call (713) 222-CARE (2273) or visit our event registration site.
