Volunteer

Founded in 1971, the Volunteer Service of Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center focuses on patient comfort. More than 300 community members devote more than 50,000 hours a year to volunteering at Memorial City. The majority of our volunteers work directly with patients and their families, providing that extra level of care while a person is hospitalized.

Volunteers are an integral part of our health care team. Being a volunteer:

  • Adds meaning to your life
  • Gives you the opportunity to develop new, lasting friendships
  • Provides you a firsthand look at the health care profession
  • Helps you accumulate community service hours for school-related projects and scholarships

We ask our Adult Volunteers(ages 18 and up) to:

  • Make a one-year commitment
  • Volunteer at least one shift a week. Shift hours are 9 am to 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm to 4 pm.
