Telemedicine
Our telemedicine capabilities include the use of robot technology that allows physicians to collaborate with each other and view patients from remote locations. Through this innovative device, a patient at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital can be seen by the very best UT physician even if that physician is located at another hospital.
The Remote Presence System robot is fully portable and equipped with two-way audio/video, allowing physicians to see and hear patients and view monitors and other clinical data firsthand. Medical devices such as a digital stethoscope or pulse oximeter can be plugged into the robot, enabling firsthand remote diagnostics. This reduces the burden on nursing staff to describe or explain subtle changes in a patient's condition. Physicians can then consult directly with other physicians and specialists to discuss treatment.
Headache Center of Northwest
The Headache Center of Northwest at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of headache and migraine disorders.
Led by Pamela Blake, M.D., a nationally known expert on neurological disorders, the Center offers innovative treatments including surgery to address chronic headaches caused by neuralgia. Neuralgia occurs when a nerve is compressed or restricted by surrounding structures.
Pharmacological treatments, chemo denervation using Botox and myoblock, trigger point injections, occipital nerve blocks and trigeminal branch blocks are also offered.
The Headache Center is designed for patient treatment, recovery and comfort. From the subdued lighting to the soothing and quiet decor, the center is free of jarring colors or sounds. The designated “quiet room” for the patient experiencing a headache is dimly lit and equipped with a reclining chair for maximum comfort. Our responsive staff understands every patient’s need for a gentle, no-hassles experience.
The Headache Center of Northwest is committed to exceptional patient care. For more information, please contact us at 713-426-3337.
