Physicians affiliated with the Cancer Center have been trained at highly regarded institutions, as part of our team we have nurses that are certified O.C.N. (Oncology Certified Nurse), the gold standard for oncology nurses. The Center’s affiliated radiation therapists are highly experienced, working hand-in-hand with radiation oncologists to ensure precise treatment delivery.
In addition to highly personalized clinical care, our team includes nutritionists, oncology nurse navigators and social workers who provide emotional support and guidance through all stages of treatment, recovery and healing.

Dr. Theodore K. Yang, MD
For over 20 years Dr. Yang has worked in the Southeast Houston area as a Radiation Oncologist. He received his degree at The University of Texas at Austin in Physics and went on to work as a Medical Physicist prior to entering medical school. A graduate from UT Medical Branch at Galveston medical school, he continued and completed residency in Radiation Oncology at UTMB. He remained at UTMB as faculty specializing in Head/Neck and brachytherapy. Dr. Yang joined Greater Houston Radiation Oncology in 2001. He is board certified in therapeutic radiology and is a member of the Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, ASTRO (American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology), HCMS (Harris County Medical Society), CADAH (Chinese American Doctors Association of Houston).
Dr. Jonathan C. Cheng, MD
Dr. Cheng received his undergraduate education in Biochemistry at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa and with Departmental Highest Honors. He earned the prominent distinction of a Regents Scholar, and was awarded Schenck Memorial Scholarship and Naumberg Research Award. He then attended medical school at the Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California (USC), where he received his M.D. and Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He completed an internship in internal medicine at UCLA Olive View Medical Center in Sylmar, CA. Following this, Dr. Cheng completed his residency training in Radiation Oncology at the University of California Irvine Medical Center, City of Hope National Medical Center, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Long Beach VA Healthcare System. Dr. Cheng is board certified in therapeutic radiology with a particular interest in stereotactic radiosurgery for brain cancer, stereotactic body radiotherapy for lung or liver cancer, brachytherapy for breast, prostate or gynecological cancers, partial breast irradiation for breast cancer. He has published on the cellular and molecular biology of cancer as well as DNA Methylation. Dr. Cheng joined Greater Houston Radiation Oncology in July of 2010. Dr. Cheng is a member of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), American Medical Association (AMA), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASC0), ASTRO (American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology), American Radium Society (ARS), and Harris County Medical Society (HCMS).

The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine staff at Memorial Hermann Southeast includes specialists in all areas of anatomic and clinical pathology. They are experienced in cancer diagnosis, as well as evaluating and responding to other medical problems, including infection and effects of treatment. Pathology services include autoimmune testing, coagulation, surgical pathology,toxicology and transfusion medicine.
