Lung Nodule Clinic
Lung cancer remains a challenge in the world of oncology, and late diagnosis is the biggest problem. Our clinic creates a formal and effective process to diagnose lung cancer earlier when it is most treatable through the use of an evidence-based practice approach.
Our multi-disciplinary team meets regularly to discuss individual cases and provide prompt follow-up and evaluation. This team includes:
Why is Lung Nodule Detection Important?
A lung nodule is an abnormal growth on the lung that may be cancerous. It is identified by a computerized tomography (CT) scan or chest X-ray.
The earlier lung nodules are spotted and lung cancer is diagnosed, the more treatment options are available. Our hospital offers the iLogic ENB system, which uses GPS-like guidance during a patient's CT scan to create a 3-D image of the lungs, allowing physicians to locate, test and plan treatment for lung lesions and lymph nodes difficult to access with traditional bronchoscopy.
