 Asprec Elected to Statewide Hospital Association Board


AUSTIN (January 13, 2014) – Erin S. Asprec, chief executive officer of Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital in Houston, has been elected to the Texas Hospital Association’s Board of Trustees. Asprec took office Jan. 1 for a three-year term.

Asprec has been active in both THA and the American Hospital Association. Since 2012, she has served on THA’s Council on Policy Development and been an alternate delegate to the AHA Regional Policy Board 7.

In 2011, she was named an “Up and Comer” by Modern Healthcare magazine, one of the “Most Powerful and Influential Women in Texas” by the National Diversity Council, and one of “Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women” by Houston Women’s Magazine.

She was named to head the 274-bed hospital in March 2010, having joined Memorial Hermann Hospital in 2002 as director of business development. A year later, she was named executive liaison to the president of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. A year later, she was named chief executive officer of the Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute – Texas Medical Center, a position she held until she was named to her current position.

Following completion of a fellowship at Methodist Healthcare System in May 1999, she became the system’s director of network development and special programs, and then served two years as director of the Methodist Institute for Innovative Health.

Asprec received a master’s degree in health administration from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo., and a bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. She did an administrative internship at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
