The Volunteer Program Receptionist coordinates the daily office activities for the Volunteer Program and provides assistance to the Patient Relations team as needed.
The Volunteer Program Receptionist is responsible for the following:
Greeting and providing assistance to office visitors which may include patients, volunteers, and hospital personnel
Communicating Volunteer Program policies and procedures to current and potential volunteers
Receiving and processing volunteer applications
Completing background checks on all potential volunteers
Scheduling interviews for all potential volunteers
Entering data into volunteer information database
Assisting volunteers with badge requests
General office tasks including answering phones, creating memos and other professional documents, maintaining file system, and data entry
The Volunteer Program Receptionist may be called upon to provide assistance with additional tasks which may require spending time in other areas of the hospital. This position also requires minimal patient contact.
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must have computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be able to multi-task
Must have a friendly and professional demeanor
This position involves sitting at a desk and operating a computer for long periods of time. The position also requires occasional walking to other areas of the hospital to deliver paperwork or to assist with additional projects.
