One of America's 50 Best Hospitals

Memorial Hermann Southwest was recently recognized as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals for 2012 by HealthGrades, an independent health quality ratings company. This award signals the hospital has ranked in the top 1 percent of hospitals across the country for overall clinical excellence. This is the third year in a row our hospital has received this award. Additionally, Thompson Reuters included Memorial Hermann Southwest on its list of Top 100 Hospitals for 2011 and 2012.  

Level III Trauma Center

As a Level III state designated trauma facility and through our close relationship with Memorial Hermann Life Flight our hospital is equipped to handle the most critical and urgent  medical emergencies. In addition, the emergency department includes a separate emergency center dedicated to seniors age 65 and up.

The Southwest campus is also home to the University Place Retirement Community. University Place is a 180-unit senior living residence named by Money magazine as one of the top retirement communities in the country.

Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute - Southwest 

At Houston's first free-standing heart hospital, physicians and patients alike benefit from technology at the leading edge and innovative cardiovascular programs. 

At the Heart Valve Clinic, affiliated-physicians of the Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Institute-Southwest use a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose and treat heart murmurs. The Clinic is the only site in Houston outside of the Texas Medical Center approved to perform the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) for patients unable to go traditional open-heart surgery.

Cancer Center 

Comprehensive cancer services at the Memorial Hermann Cancer Center - Southwest includes a dedicated Breast Care Center, imaging services, radiation oncology, diagnostic testing and medical/surgical oncology.

Joint Replacement Program 

Our team of affiliated orthopedic surgeons, specially trained nurses, therapists and other caregivers treats and rehabilitates the pain and immobility associated with severe, debilitating osteoarthritis or traumatic injury of the knee or hip. Learn more.

Asian Care Unit

We embrace our diverse patient population and are pleased to serve the Asian community. We have created an entire hospital wing, located on the 7th floor, dedicated to better serving the needs of members of the Asian community.

Care for Seniors

Memorial Hermann Southwest recognizes that our senior clientele is unique and deserves specialized services dedicated to its needs. We are proud to offer three hospital units designed with the needs of senior patients in mind including the Senior Emergency Center, Senior Medicine Unit and Senior Treatment and Recovery Unit for Behavioral Care (S.T.A.R.).

Digestive Health Center   

The Endoscopy Center at Memorial Hermann Southwest has highly-trained affiliated-physicians and staff with the latest in endoscopic technology.  The Center is also home to the Direct Access Program which allows patients to directly schedule a colonoscopy without having to get a doctor's referral.
