Memorial Hermann Heroes in Health partners with Mockingbird Bistro to benefit Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital

HOUSTON, TX (August22, 2013)

Memorial Hermann Heroes in Health is hosting a private luncheon benefiting Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital (CMHH) at Mockingbird Bistro Wine Bar on August 27. Executive chef John Sheely, owner of Mockingbird Bistro and the soon-to-open Osteria Mazzantini, has kindly partnered with Heroes in Health to sponsor the luncheon and donate all proceeds to CMHH.

"At Mockingbird Bistro, giving back to the community is an important element of the company culture," said Chef Sheely. "My staff and I are honored to partner with Heroes in Health and we're excited to help raise money for such a worthwhile cause and to collaborate with the Heroes on future benefits."

Several CMHH physicians are expected to attend, including pediatric neurologist Gretchen K. Von Allmen, M.D.; maternal fetal medicine specialist Sean C. Blackwell, M.D.; pediatric orthopaedic surgeon Alfred A. Mansour, M.D.; pediatric neurosurgeon and director of pediatric neurosurgery at the Mischer Neuroscience Institute David I. Sandberg, M.D.; pediatrician Keely L. Smith, M.D.; pediatric surgeon and co-director of the Texas Fetal Center KuoJen Tsao, M.D.; as well as CEO of Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, Susie Distefano. Throughout the three-course meal, Distefano and the physicians plan to rotate tables while mixing and mingling with the Heroes.

"I look forward to meeting and interacting with the Heroes over a casual lunch," said Distefano. "These young volunteers are important upcoming influencers in the community and I'm delighted they have chosen to give their time and support to our hospital."
