We offer a continuum of diagnostic, treatment and support services designed with the needs of cancer patients in mind.

The doctors at the Cancer Center-The Woodlands have been trained at highly regarded institutions. Many of our oncology nurses have completed national certification in oncology nursing and earned the credential OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse), the gold standard for oncology nurses. Other features at our Center include:

  • Oncology Nurse Navigator
  • Emotional support during the course of each patient's treatment
  • Support for dietitians and social workers


The Cancer Center at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center is accredited as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) and earned its cancer accreditation with nine commendations, the highest possible level of accreditation.Cancer Center Accreditation

Additionally, the CoC awarded Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center with its 2008 Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award. At Memorial Hermann Cancer Center-The Woodlands, unique elements of our cancer program include:

Robotic-Assisted Surgery

Robotic-assisted surgery is used to treat prostate, gynecological, and colorectal cancers. Using the da Vinci® Surgical System, the surgeons at the Cancer Center perform precise, nerve-sparing surgery that results in more complete eradication of cancer. Patient benefits include shorter hospital stay, less pain, less risk of infection, less scarring and quicker return to normal activities.

Types of robotic-assisted surgery:


    Canopy, in partnership with Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, will offer many survivorship services to our community of patients, including:

    • A cooking demonstration room for nutritional education and counseling
    • A large support group room for caregiver support sessions, yoga classes, music,
      art and dance therapy, "Ask the Doctor" sessions, and so much more
    • A small support group room for private counseling, small group counseling
      sessions, smoking cessation classes, meetings with our social worker or dietician,
      and Look Good Feel Better sessions
    • A consultation room for one-on-one counseling and other sensitive discussions
    • An onsite resource library and electronic resources
    • A massage therapy room for individualized massage treatment
    • A private dressing room area for breast prosthesis and bra fittings
    • A wig salon for individuals coping with hair loss

    CANOPY - Cancer Survivorship Center at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands

    Did you know? Being a cancer survivor starts the moment a person is diagnosed. Opening in late spring 2016 is CANOPY, a place for cancer survivors (and caregivers) of all kinds to find resources and connect with others. CANOPY is Montgomery County’s first cancer survivorship center and is located in Medical Plaza 1 at 1120 Medical Plaza Drive, Suite 250.

    Features at CANOPY include: a large support group room for caregiver support sessions, art therapy, dance therapy, yoga for cancer survivors; a kitchen for cooking demos and cancer nutrition education; a small support group/counseling room for Look Good, Feel Better sessions, smoking cessation classes, and smaller meetings; a consultation room for one-on-one meetings with individuals like the oncology nurse navigator who offices at CANOPY; an onsite library and electronic resources; a massage therapy room; a private dressing room area for breast prosthesis fittings; and a wig salon for those coping with hair loss from chemotherapy.
