The doctors at the Cancer Center-The Woodlands have been trained at highly regarded institutions. Many of our oncology nurses have completed national certification in oncology nursing and earned the credential OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse), the gold standard for oncology nurses. Other features at our Center include:

The Cancer Center at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands is accredited as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) and earned its cancer accreditation with nine commendations, the highest possible level of accreditation.Cancer Center Accreditation

Additionally, the CoC awarded Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital with its 2008 Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award. Approximately 478 programs were surveyed and only 19% received with the additional award that recognizes cancer programs that meet seven standards of compliance:

Robotic-Assisted Surgery

Robotic-assisted surgery is used to treat prostate, gynecological, and colorectal cancers. Using the da Vinci® Surgical System, the surgeons at the Cancer Center perform precise, nerve-sparing surgery that results in more complete eradication of cancer. Patient benefits include shorter hospital stay, less pain, less risk of infection, less scarring and quicker return to normal activities.
