Balance holiday with training regimen

The hard work is over for runners training for the Chevron Houston Marathon. With only three weeks before race day, it's time to start running fewer miles.

But that doesn't mean it's time to flop on the couch and over-indulge in holiday treats. It's important to maintain a balance between retaining hard-earned fitness and resting enough that the body is refreshed and ready to go on Jan. 13, sports-medicine experts say.
