Enjoy the food this holiday season - just not too much
HOUSTON (November20,
2017)
We have arrived at the holiday season, which, let's be honest, really means the food season. With Thanksgiving days away and just a month until Christmas, food of all kinds - and lots of it - will soon be gracing our tables. From turkey, to stuffing, pies and cakes, it is sometimes hard to resist eating more than normal during this time of the year. Brett Singer, sports dietitian with Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute, acknowledges that feasting one day of the year will not push you over the top, in terms of bad health. However, Singer said it's important to make sure food gorging doesn't turn into a habit. Constantly overeating can lead to serious health problems, with weight gain being the most obvious.
