Memorial Hermann’s Exemplary Clinical Quality Earns Place Among America’s 50 Best Hospitals Three Years Running
HOUSTON, TX (March22,
Achieving and maintaining exemplary clinical quality has again placed Memorial Hermann among an elite group of U.S. hospitals in HealthGrades America's 50 Best Hospitals rankings. For the third consecutive year, four campuses - Memorial Hermann Northwest, Memorial Hermann Southeast, Memorial Hermann Southwest, and Memorial Hermann The Woodlands hospitals - have achieved risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates that were in the top 5 percent in the nation. The hospitals are the only Texas-based institutions on the list.
"This is an important clinical quality distinction that we are proud of, and have worked hard to achieve," said Dan Wolterman, Memorial Hermann president and CEO. "But it goes beyond the recognition. Hospitals that make this list have proven to patients that they will receive high-quality care. On average, patients treated at America's 50 Best Hospitals have nearly a 30% lower risk of death - that translates into thousands of lives saved each year."
"As our nation seeks to elevate the quality of care at all hospitals, these elite facilities provide a roadmap for success," said Dr. Arshad Rahim, HealthGrades Director of Accelerated Clinical Excellence. "Consumers increasingly are demanding greater transparency and quality when selecting healthcare providers. These hospitals are delivering. We commend them for their dedication to excellence in patient care."
