MHealth Insurance Company changes name to Memorial Hermann Health Insurance Company
HOUSTON, TX (July15,
New name aligns with health system's clinically-integrated care delivery model
MHealth Insurance Company announced today it has changed the company's name to the Memorial Hermann Health Insurance Company - effective immediately.
"The change reflects our current strategic plans to build on the awareness of the Memorial Hermann Health System and its national reputation as a leader in clinical integration, quality and patient safety," said Brian Wells, CEO of Memorial Hermann Health Insurance Company.
With rising health care costs being a major challenge for consumers and employers, the Memorial Hermann Health System is aggressively moving to deliver clinically-integrated care that is safe, high-quality and cost effective.
"Our unified branding of the Memorial Hermann name and alignment with our affiliated physician groups - MHMD, the Memorial Hermann Physician Network and Memorial Hermann Medical Group - signals to the Greater Houston region that we are a fully integrated health system able to serve the needs of both patients and employers," Wells continued.
Recently, Memorial Hermann was the lone Houston hospital to earn a spot on the Becker's Hospital Review list of the "100 Integrated Health Systems to Know," for offering a complete range and coordination of healthcare services. The list featured health systems that focus on the continuum of care, from wellness and preventive services to urgent care, inpatient care, outpatient care, hospice, health plan offerings and more.
Moreover, Memorial Hermann also was recognized for demonstrating innovation through its participation in care and payment reform initiatives, such as an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). Last year, Memorial Hermann Accountable Care Organization (MHACO) was selected to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (Shared Savings Program) as an ACO, a program sponsored by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
"The concept of an accountable care organization is a hospital system and physicians closely working together to drive preventive care, improve quality, and manage the cost of care along this fee for value basis," Wells said. "With the Memorial Hermann Health Insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary that accepts insurance premiums, we are embracing the ultimate level of accountability.
"The value proposition for employers and their insurance brokers is, they have the Memorial Hermann Health Insurance Company right here in their backyard offering competitive premiums and access to health plans that offer high quality, safe and cost efficient healthcare."
