During his one-year term, which will commence on September 1, Dr. Mehta will be responsible for ensuring the continuation of quality medical care throughout the hospital.  He also will serve as chairman of the hospital's Medical Executive Committee and as a member of the Peer Review Team.

His post-graduate experience also includes working as a research assistant at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

After practicing in internal medicine for seven years in Lafayette, Louisiana, Dr. Mehta moved to Katy in 2000 to be closer to his family.  He now practices medicine at Katy Internal Medicine Associates and is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.
