Rev Up Your Engines with 2nd annual Tune Up for Life

 

Rev up your engines and prepare for the return of great classics including cars, music, food and health screenings. Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital, along with Legacy Ford and Prime Living Magazine, is bringing back Tune Up for Life on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m., on the hospital grounds.

This fun-filled event includes the chance to view classic cars and the newest vehicles from Legacy Ford in Rosenberg, a proven winner with the guys. Classic music from the 60s and 70s will fill the air. A new addition to the event includes Shape Up Sugar Land's Healthy Monday Restaurants who will fuel up participants with healthy bites of their favorite foods. Some of the restaurants include Kublai Khan, My Fit Foods, Fish City Grill, Mission Burrito and The Vineyard at Town Square.

Attendees will have the opportunity to tune up their bodies with free health checks that parallel their car care regiments. Be sure to pull into these stations during Tune Up for Life:

  • Oil Pressure Check for blood pressure screenings
  • Chassis Check for an inspection of your joints with a Memorial Hermann affiliated orthopedist
  • Battery Check for heart screenings with a Memorial Hermann affiliated cardiologist
  • Gas Emission Check to pick up a colorectal screening kit to test for colorectal cancer at home and to talk with a Memorial Hermann affiliated gastroenterologist
  • Alignment Check for a heel bone density screening
  • Fluid Check for PSA blood draws

In addition, Walgreens will offer flu shots for a nominal charge.

Individuals who show their classic cars will have the chance to receive first through third place Legacy Classic trophies awarded by Legacy Ford.

This enjoyable expo, attended by over 500 men and women last year, helps increase knowledge of men's and women's health issues. It also provides a convenient setting to participate in health screenings that are proven to save lives.
