Zweighaft
Named Chief Medical Officer at Memorial Hermann Memorial
City
Houston,
Texas –With extensive experience in healthcare management
and clinical leadership, Ronald Zweighaft, M.D., has been named chief
medical officer at Memorial Hermann Memorial City.
Board certified in neurology,
Dr. Zweighaft first joined the hospital’s
staff in 1981.
He
served as chief of neurology services in 1992 and chief of staff in
1993 and again in 2004 & 2005. Dr.
Zweighaft is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and has
served on the Houston Academy of Medicare board of trustees and as
president of the Harris County Medical Society’s Western Branch.
Dr. Zweighaft has received
many honors and awards during more than 30 years in healthcare. He
was named one of America’s Best Doctors
by the Center for the Study of Services, and is listed in Texas Super
Doctors by Texas Monthly Magazine, the Best Doctors in Harris
County by Inside Houston Magazine, and Outstanding Educator
of the Year by Health Occupations Students of America, among others.
Educated at Rice University
and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dr Zweighaft
will be responsible for leading and directing all hospital-based
programs that impact clinical quality, safety, care management and
the adoption of healthcare technology. He will function as a member
of the hospital’s management staff, while assisting
the medical staff leadership in fulfilling their obligations in areas
of clinical quality, regulatory compliance, credentialing and peer
review. Dr. Zweighaft will also work closely with the executive committee
and incoming chief of staff, J.R. Cali, M.D., on medical staff issues.
