| William Peruzzi, M.D. |

Houston,
Texas, March 15, 2005 – With extensive experience in medical
research as well as operations management and clinical leadership,
William Peruzzi, M.D., has been named chief medical officer at Memorial
Hermann Hospital and Memorial
Hermann Children’s Hospital.
Board certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine, Dr.
Peruzzi joins Memorial Hermann on March 14 from Northwestern University,
Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, where he served as professor
of anesthesiology, chief of the Critical Care Medicine Section, and
director of the Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship Program.
He is also a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians,
a fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine, and a
member of the Association of University Anesthesiologists.

During
more than 20 years in healthcare, Dr. Peruzzi has held increasingly
responsible positions, including appointments at Northwestern Medical
Hospital and the Chicago Neurosurgical Center.
Educated at John
Carroll University, The Ohio State University College of Medicine,
and the Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Peruzzi will be responsible
for a number of vital functions at Memorial Hermann. In addition
to serving as the administrative advocate for medical staff, the
CMO is responsible for quality, ethics, performance improvement,
infection control and credentialing.
