An estimated 85 percent of children placed in child safety seats and booster seats are improperly restrained, including usingan inappropriate seat for the child’s age/size, placing an infant forward-facing too early and not properly securing the seat to the vehicle or the child to the seat. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will perform free car seat inspections to ensure that all of little ones are riding safely and within the law. Our team can check car seat installation, seat choice and positioning of the child in the seat. The team also has a copy of the current recall list and will be able to determine if your car has LATCH (Lower Anchors & Tethers for Children) capabilities. Inspections will be Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, 9250 Pinecroft, in the parking lot off Medical Plaza Drive behind the Patient Tower. Call Jackie Stiernagle, R.N., at 281-364-5896 for your appointment. Appointments take about 30 minutes per seat. This free event is by appointment only. Please specify the number of seats to be checked when calling in your appointment.
