Houston, Texas, May 1, 2006
– Four Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops in the Houston area gave away free ice cream and collected more than $3,200 in customer donations benefiting Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital during Free Cone Day on April 25.
The hospital’s Child Life department will use the proceeds to buy books, toys, videos, games, car safety seats and other items to help improve the quality of life for patients both in the hospital and after they go home. The money also helps send children with health disabilities to special summer camps.
