Mary H. Slaughter Installed As President of the Northeast Hospital Volunteers
Humble, Texas, May 16, 2008 – Mary H. Slaughter of Humble has been installed as president of the Memorial Hermann Northeast Volunteers. She will serve through May 2009.
Slaughter has been a volunteer at Northeast since 2002 with more than 1,500 hours volunteered.
She is a native Humble resident who has lived most of her life in Humble. Mary retired from the District Clerk’s office after 24 years.
She retired as manager of the civil intake and public service division of the District Clerk’s office. She and her husband, Jerry, have five adult children and 10 grandchildren. She is a member of First United Methodist Church of Humble.
In addition to Slaughter, the Memorial Hermann Northeast Volunteers officers include:
- Linda Raatz, 1st vice president
- Paula Sims, 2nd vice president
- Rose Marie Hartley, 3rd vice president
- Carroll Coffman, treasurer
- Donnie Redman, secretary
- Lynda Rought, historian
- Don Blair, parliamentarian
The Northeast volunteers donate more than 50 thousand hours each year and more than $70,000 to Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and to the Northeast Hospital Foundation. They provide scholarships to students from area high schools. They also contribute time and money to many community projects such as Northeast’s Seniors Program, Humble Area Assistance Ministries, the Cancer Center, Humble Good Oil Days, Kingwood Heartbeat Bears, and the Humble Area Chamber of Commerce.
