Memorial Hermann opens Neighborhood Health Center in Northwest Houston

Houston, Texas, June 1, 2006 – Memorial Hermann today announced the opening of the new Neighborhood Health Center, located in Northwest Houston. The facility will provide area residents with a convenient alternative to the emergency room for non-urgent care.

The Neighborhood Health Center will offer a full spectrum of services including: continuity of care for chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, wellness exams, and treatment for routine acute conditions such as colds or the flu.   The clinic, located at 11097 Northwest Freeway and W. 34th St, is open seven days a week and charges a flat fee of $45 per office visit.

“The Neighborhood Health Center is designed to relieve emergency room overcrowding and reduce wait times for non-emergency care. Patients can expect quality healthcare at a predictable and affordable cost,” said Chips Adams, Memorial Hermann director of outpatient clinics.

Qualified, board-certified nurse practitioners are on staff to evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate medications. The nurse-practitioners will also consult with patients on options for medications when cost is a concern.

The clinic accepts cash, checks, and most major credit cards. Hours of operation include Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and weekends from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are not required but are recommended.
